Includes Latin, International Ballroom, American Rhythm and Smooth, and Cabaret styles. Explores formation team competition, solo couple competition, formation team stage performance, and solo couple stage performance as part of the creative process.

Emphasizes the social and cultural context in which ballroom dance is created and performed. Includes career, life style, education, gender, moral and ethical concerns related to ballroom dance issues. Also covers ballroom dance history, evolution, and current trends. Identifies similarities and differences between ballroom dance and other dance forms. Involves discussion, lecture, research, student presentations and participation.

Teaches American, International Ballroom, and Latin techniques using intermediate and advanced choreography in performance and competitive discipline.
