Includes the history, development, and theory of family life education, as well as discussing the types of family-life education programs. Develops the knowledge and practical skills that are required to identify needs, design programs, teach family-life education, facilitate groups, and evaluate participants and programs in a wide variety of settings with a broad range of populations. Develops an appreciation for the impact of diversity in family-life education, which includes an awareness of multicultural factors, family structure, culture, economics, gender, race, religion, disability, ageism, and sexual orientation.
