Prerequisite(s): Acceptance into Physician Assistant Program and successful completion of the didactic phase.. Provides the physician assistant student with clinical experience in practicing the principles of emergency medicine. Facilitates experience in the evaluation of patients across the lifespan (infant, child, adolescent, adult, and elderly). Includes learning skills needed for the appropriate triage, stabilization, diagnosis, and management of patients with significant traumatic injuries, acute illnesses, acute complications of chronic illnesses, as well as the management of less life-threatening problems. This is a five-week supervised clinical practical experience (SCPE). May be graded credit/no credit.
