  • Scholarships and Financial Aid:
    Undergraduate admissions applicants are automatically considered for academic scholarships. Leadership scholarship require an application process and attending a Leadership Weekend. Admissions applications must be completed before the scholarship deadline: March 1 for transfer students. If interested in a talent scholarship, please contact the specific department for requirements.

Transfer Application Requirements

  • Minimum GPA:
    Transfer students with 24+ credits earned from a post-secondary institution (not including concurrent enrollment) will be admitted to SUU based on their college cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. Transfer students with less than 24 credits earned from a post-secondary institution will be admitted to SUU based on their college cumulative GPA and their high school unweighted GPA. Test scores are not required but encouraged.
  • Official Transcripts:
    Students with less than 24 semester hours must submit official high school transcripts. The submission of official transcripts from all previously attended post-secondary institutions is required.
  • SAT Scores:
    Students with less than 24 transferable, post-secondary semester hours may submit official standardized test scores but is not required.
  • Letters of Recommendation:
    The submission of letters of recommendation is not required.
  • Essay:
    The submission of an essay is not required.
  • Application Fee:
    SUU does not charge an application fee.
  • Interview:
    A personal interview is not required for admission consideration.
  • Associates Degree Required:
    Not required but recommended.
  • Other Requirements:
    Official transcripts must be sent in from all institutions that credit has been earned. Concurrent (Dual) Enrollment as well as any AP test scores.

Transfer Credit Policy

  • Minimum Grade:
    The lowest grade earned for any course that may be transferred for credit is D.
  • Credits (Min/Max):
    The minimum number of credits you must complete at Southern Utah to earn an associate degree is 30 upper division and 50% of credit hours. For a bachelor's degree, at least 30 (20 upper division and 10 credit hours in your major).
